Laos; tips in the City

Bismillah...

Where: Vientiane & Vang Vieng
When: 30th April until 4th May
What: A quiet place to enjoy life.
Why: Asia short trip. Let's visit Asia!!

Laos is totally a different experience for me compared to other trips. It made me think a lot. During the trip, a lot of things came in my mind. I had a lot of ideas about everything. It really is a great getaway for me to rethink life. Laos is definitely a place to get away from hectic urban life.

Immediate visa

As usual, only Ewa and I went to Laos. I realized that we are the only Malay Islam girl on the plane, in the airport and in the city. Laos is a safe place to travel with family and friends. Vientiane is a small city where you can just walk around and visit. It may seem large in the map, but in reality everywhere is just a walk away. So super near.

We booked the hotels through Agoda. A trusted website to book hotel rooms through out the world. We stayed in 3 hotels through out our visit in Laos. The first hotel was Inter City boutique Hotel in the capital city Vientiane. It's a nice small hotel with friendly staff. It's a great hotel as it is located opposite Mekong River and night market. The second hotel is Inthira Hotel in Vang Vieng. Finally, our last hotel is Avalon Hotel, capital of Vientiane. There are a lot of hotels either in Vientiane or Vang Vieng. You can just walk in as long as it's not during the peak season.

Tips and facts in Laos:

  • The best muslim food would be Nazim halal restaurant located near Inter City Boutique Hotel. The teh tarik and nasi beriyani are super delicious.
  • Everywhere is a walk away. The city is small. You can save money by walking.
  • If you're staying in Laos for a long period, travel to Luang Prabang. I heard it's a better place than Vientiane and Vang Viang.
  • The cost of living here is quite expensive compared to Malaysia as it's a tourist country. Tourism is one of the country's main income.
  • A bus ride to Vang Vieng from Vientiane is 3 hours away.
  • A bus ride to Luang Prabang from Vientiane is 8 hours away.
Laos, a quiet place to visit; a city that made me think.

Family vs Friends

Bismillah...

Family is forever and friends are sometimes foe. Love your family more than loving your friends.

It's hard to believe that your once best/good friend ignores you totally. I disagree to agree that friends are forever. Friends can actually be our hidden foe. *eventually*

You were once close like the icing and cakes. We were close, we laugh and cry together *that was just a dramatic entry*. We did most things together for years. Then suddenly things change. I'm not sure why. But things just suddenly change. No more sleep over. No more car pool. No more movies or dining together. Everything seems awkward.

This one time, I felt furious and nearly loss my temper, but luckily I managed to control myself and be patient. It was like; what the heck. This will be the last time together.

However, I learnt one thing. You will always have your family beside you when your friends ignore you for no reason. Your family will always be there for you even after a big fight or disagreement. They know you best. Love your family even when we have different opinions in life.

My Family, mi amore..

Friendship is like a glass ornament, once it is broken, it can rarely be put back together exactly the same way.

Drama Queen #2

Bismillah...

May is a blessing month for most people as we celebrate Labor Day, Mothers Day, Teachers Day and also Nurses Day.

Today I came back from IKEA, Curve and tesco Mutiara Damansara buying necessities for my little brothers' and sisters' Teachers day tomorrow. I bought a few things such as chocolates, jellies, wrapping paper and artificial flowers from IKEA.

My sister and I arrived home and I ordered Fatimah to help with present wrapping. She sort of hesitated but I insisted that she helps out.

Suddenly my brother asked if there's any payment for helping out...

The drama begins...
I said; since you're asking for a payment, then maybe I should ask for some payment helping all of you from the beginning. Maybe I should list out all the things that I've done from driving you from campus to giving you money. It'll be a long list. bla bla bla....

It seems that my siblings are complying with my instructions... Self made presents for the teachers!!

Happy Teachers Day to all beloved intelligent teachers in this whole wide world!!

Bismillah...

The cutest thing on earth would be babies.

Today, accidently I met my nephew Muhammad Yusuf at IKEA. It' been a while since I met him. He is getting more handsome and cuter by day.

As his parents were going to eat, I took him for a personal IKEA photoshoot.

Super Fun trip to Sabah... *Sabah bah*

Bismillah...

Where: Kota Kinabalu, Mersilau, Kundasang & Ranau; Sabah
When: Mid April.A short 4 days trip
What: Have fun and enjoy the scenery
Why: Cheap  RM 230 return AirAsia tix KL-KK
With whom: Azie and K.Long

I bought late night tix to Kota Kinabalu (KK) assuming that we'll have 24 hours the next day. However it was a bad idea as I made my friend pick us up around midnight in KK. It was raining cats and dogs when we departed from KL and it's still raining when we arrived KK.

The last flight...

It was Thursday morning, my first time in KK. The first place we went to was Mamutik Island and Manukan Island. The corals are beautiful and the sea creatures are just fine compared to Redang Island. We had late lunch at the Jesselton Point (the jetty). The final activity of the day was we watched midnight movie; Oblivian. In KK, we stayed at Sensi Backpackers Hostel.

On Friday, we drove to Kundasang (this is where the Mount Kinabalu is located). We stayed at Kiram's Village near Mersilau. The view is super awesome!!

On Saturday we visited the Cattle Farm, Kundasang Memorial Park and after that we went to Poring Hotspring and waterfall in Ranau and drove back to KK that evening.

Excitement makes a Difference

Bismillah...

Feelings are the  most extraordinary things. It makes a big difference for each and every situation a human being experience.

It's not the distance that concludes whether a place is near or far. We can control the distance of a journey. From my experience, excitement makes the distance of a place shorter. The more excited you are, the shorter the journey will be.

Right now I'm super excited to go back to my hometown in Besut, Terengganu. The journey from Kuala Lumpur usually takes about 7-10 hours depending on your speed. However, we're not going straight to the destination. We're stopping at Cherating for a night and to Besut the next day. It'll be a great road trip with siblings and a cousin.

Safe journey and happy holidays!!!

Candy Crush Saga!! The New Addiction

Bismillah...

Addiction is best serve when it's hot.

A few days ago I found an addictive game called Candy Crush Saga. It is super addictive. Well, the first 25 level it is.

Level 27 failed more than 15 times!! I give up!!

But it hit me, why on earth am I wasting my time playing a game that is controlled by computers? All I have to do is click the mouse and let the computer make my life miserable. I'm not stupid. So I made up my mind to stop crushing the candies and live my life.

I'm done crushing candies. I give up.

Wassalam & Cheers.
